| GRHL3

Grainyhead-like Protein 3 Homolog (GRHL3) is a member of the grainyhead family of transcription factors. Grainyhead-like genes are a family of highly conserved transcription factors that are functionally and structurally homologous across a large number of vertebrate and invertebrate species. Diseases associated with GRHL3 include Van Der Woude Syndrome 2 and Cleft Palate, Isolated. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include DNA-binding transcription factor activity and DNA-binding transcription factor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific. An important paralog of this gene is GRHL2.Transcription factor playing important roles in primary neurulation and in the differentiation of stratified epithelia of both ectodermal and endodermal origin.
